We are regular people, just like you. Some of us have a mental health diagnosis, and some of us just feel "off" sometimes. We're from Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Duncannon, Lancaster, Carlisle and many other communities in central PA. We may be struggling with different things, but we all have one thing in common: a desire to improve our quality of life. Join us!
Since 2019...
About Us...
We have been helping each other through difficult times. No one here claims to know everything, but together, we know a lot about the mental health system and mental health diagnoses.
Meeting Facilitators

John B.
John started the group in January of 2019. He is a retired public school teacher and currently works part time as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. John's go-to coping skills include playing with his dogs, handicapping horse races and riding his bike.

Katy D.
Katy was diagnosed with depression at age 15 and since has been striving to help those also struggling. She is a Harrisburg local and FedEx Courier and always willing to lend a helping hand. With 5+ years being a group leader, she helps provide a safe space for sharing your story.

Kathy P.
Kathy has been involved with the group since its early days in 2019 and was also a facilitator for our online meeting. She likes spending time with her dogs Scooter and Fozzy, grooming the occasional dog and traveling with her partner John. Kathy enjoys having the opportunity to help others through her own lived experience.
The Harrisburg Area Mental Health Support Group has been a lifesaver for me. The community is supportive and understanding, making every meeting a safe space.
