We are regular people, just like you. Some of us have a mental health diagnosis, and some of us just feel "off" sometimes. We're from Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Duncannon, Lancaster, Carlisle and many other communities in central PA. We may be struggling with different things, but we all have one thing in common: a desire to improve our quality of life. Join us!

A letter board displays the words 'BIPOLAR DISORDER' surrounded by scattered letters. Nearby, there is a clipboard with a blank sheet of paper and a pencil, accompanied by a cup of black coffee. Three photographs show different facial expressions, and a small potted plant is visible. The surface is textured in a neutral tone.

About Us...

We have been helping each other through difficult times. No one here claims to know everything, but together, we know a lot about the mental health system and mental health diagnoses.

Meeting Facilitators

John B.

John started the group in January of 2019. He is a retired public school teacher and currently works part time as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. John's go-to coping skills include playing with dogs, handicapping horse races and utilizing his support system.

Katy D.

Katy was diagnosed with depression at age 15 and since has been striving to help those also struggling. She is a Harrisburg local and FedEx Courier and always willing to lend a helping hand. With 5+ years being a group leader, she helps provide a safe space for sharing your story.

The Harrisburg Area Mental Health Support Group has been a lifesaver for me. The community is supportive and understanding, making every meeting a safe space.

A group of people sits under a colorful tent made of red, yellow, and orange fabric. They appear to be attending a workshop or class. A chalkboard on the left lists a schedule with topics like 'Food as Medicine' and 'Healthy Lifestyle.' The participants sit on mats and blankets, listening to someone speaking at the front. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with shoes and personal items placed on the grass nearby.
